Preserving Our Heritage

Occasionally in the past, developers have offered to give the Lakeside Historical Society old buildings that have been marked for demolition.  Unfortunately, we have had no place to move them to.
The LHS board of directors sub-committee has been discussing the feasibility of purchasing property in Lakeside with the thoughts of creating a Heritage Park to preserve some of our unique old buildings before they are lost forever.
They have been inspecting several properties recently that should meet the needs of our ever-growing community.  This is only a feasibility study and more information will be presented to Historical Society members in the June edition of Historical Happenings.

Notice To All Members

In  July and August there will be no regular meetings.  But, the Back Door Country Store and History Center will be open Tuesday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
