The Lakeside Historical Society's Cedar Fire 2003 Monument was unveiled at the Heritage Day luncheon, five years to the day of the wildfire.  The monument details the history of wildfires in San Diego County , follows the progression of the Cedar Fire as it raced through Lakeside , and identifies the lives that were lost in our community to this devastating event.  The background features artwork by community members, both adults and children, memorializing the fire. 
  Richard White designed the layout of the monument and has shepparded the monument it's from its inception.

  The monument will be placed just to the west of the Olde Community Church in the future.  We are also hoping to site a duplicate monument panels elsewhere in the community including, hopefully, in Lindo Lake Park .
