  We do have a wish list for this year. The Archivists have identified a need for a high quality commercial scanner. They have been very busy copying our archives and our old pictures to computer discs, which will be stored in a safe deposit box. Thus our archives will have a safety net in case something very bad was to happen. So far the archivists have worn out two regular scanners, and are now putting in the request for a heavy-duty commercial unit. The estimated cost is $1200. This is not a budgeted item at this time so if you would like to help out, let us know.

Volunteers Needed

  We need a Chairman for Heritage Day and a Chairman for the Christmas Holiday Home Tour.  These are more involved jobs where you would set up a committee to help organize the event.  Former Chairmen are available to provide an outline of what needs to be done. Please leave a message at the LHS if you are interested - 561-1886.
  If you have a few extra hours each month, please consider volunteering to run the LHS Store or be docent at our Museum. Leave a message at the LHS.
  We need host/hostesses for our meetings each month. Please contact Mary Neal to volunteer.

  Our Christmas Resale Shop gets bigger and better every year. Sales of donated Christmas items far exceeded our expectations and it was wonderful fun setting it all up. Many of the donated items were used to decorate both inside and outside the church.
  Now the challenge is to restock for next year. Watch for Christmas decorations at yard sales, church bazaars and rummage sales. Please call me and I will come see what they have.
  Thank you all for your support and laughs and generous donations. Gosh! In only 10 months, we start unpacking to do it all over again!
